About Us
Why We Are Different
Individualized Estate Planning
We don’t believe in “one-size-fits-all” estate planning – we prefer to build relationships. Each of our clients has diverse and varied needs based on family dynamics, business situations and a unique vision of their legacy. As your estate planning and business law attorneys, we take the time to understand your priorities, family and business to structure an estate plan that will best protect the people you love as well as your assets now and in the future. And, as attorneys at Parsons Behle & Latimer, we have access to a deep, full-service attorney bench to assist our clients with any legal needs that may arise.
Confidence and Peace of Mind
We know that estate planning can be daunting, which often leads to procrastination. We strive to make the estate planning process comfortable and easy to understand so you can be confident with your decisions and know that the people and things that matter most to you are safe and secure. We also know the importance of placing your business on solid legal footing, including planning for change, to give you additional security and peace of mind.
Upfront Pricing
Many lawyers give you a billable hourly rate with no cap, paving the way for costs to escalate out of control. For most of our estate and business planning services, we provide our clients with upfront, flat-fee pricing. We take time to learn about your unique planning needs and then, in most cases, provide you with a fixed price for the services you require. This arrangement allows you to make an informed decision and not be shocked later in the process. Many people hesitate to call their attorney because they will receive a bill for the phone conversation. Our fixed price promotes communication and allows you to feel comfortable calling our office.
Ongoing Plan Implementation
Some estate planning attorneys consider the delivery of documents the end of the relationship. Our clients benefit from the ongoing care we offer your entire family – from helping to educate about estate planning, so you feel secure in your decisions, to offering free, three-year estate checkups and basic planning documents for your family at all stages. Over time, assets, family and the law can change. We work with our clients to ensure that ongoing follow-up work is completed, and questions are answered as they arise.
Planning for Minor Children
As parents, we know that few things are more frightening than the thought of leaving our children through unforeseen circumstances. We provide a comprehensive planning process for our clients with minor children to ensure that the people you have appointed will care for your children and their assets, should something happen to you. Our process includes communication and education designed for guardians to ensure the smoothest possible transition and to avoid state custody. Our process also includes instructions from parents or guardians to children and their appointed guardians to ensure your advice and values are clearly understood and carried out.
Diversified Expertise
Our estate planning and tax attorneys work with clients in a range of legal capacities to ensure that you receive comprehensive advice and guidance that best positions you and your family for a secure and successful future. Our attorneys are deeply experienced not only in estate and asset planning, but also in tax planning; banking and finance; business law; estate and trust litigation; and probate and trust administration. And with the comprehensive services of Parsons Behle & Latimer attorneys at their disposal, our estate planning attorneys can leverage a full range of legal services outside of estate planning as needed.
